3. Zimbabwe Grass
Zimbabwe grass is a medium-textured lawn grass that strikes an excellent balance between durability and aesthetics. Zimbabwe grass establishes quickly and maintains excellent colour through moderate dry periods. It is the most popular choice for residential family gardens in Nairobi's mid-range and upper-tier properties.

4. Buffalo Grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum)
Buffalo grass is Nairobi's best drought-tolerant lawn option. Buffalo grass has a broad-blade, carpet-like appearance and spreads naturally once established.

How long before I can mow my new lawn?
We recommend waiting until the grass has reached 80mm in height before the first mow, and setting the mower to no lower than 40mm for the first cut. Mowing too early or too short stresses newly established sod.
